Service areas
New Jersey and New York City. That’s the whole list.
Local search rewards depth, not reach. Two markets we know well beats fifty we’d be guessing at.
B2B Systems Group serves businesses in seven New Jersey counties — Bergen, Hudson, Essex, Union, Morris, Passaic and Middlesex — and all five New York City boroughs. We work remotely by default and meet in person for discovery, POS installations and on-site photography throughout that area. We do not take clients outside this region.
Coverage
Two markets, covered properly.
Area 01
New Jersey
Bergen, Hudson, Essex, Union, Morris, Passaic and Middlesex — the densest markets in the state, where the difference between ranking in your own town and the next one over is worth real money.
- Seven counties, deliberately
- In-person available across all seven
- NJ business filing, licensing and directory specifics understood
Area 02
New York City
Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. The most competitive local search market in the country, where proximity radius behaves nothing like it does in the suburbs.
- All five boroughs, neighborhood-level targeting
- In-person available across the city
- NYC licensing, permitting and directory specifics understood
How local ranking works
Why you rank in one town and vanish in the next.
Understanding this saves a lot of frustrating conversations about why the map results look different on your phone than on your competitor’s.
Local results are personalized to the searcher’s location
When someone searches “dentist near me,” Google builds the map pack around where they are standing, not around who has the best website. Proximity is the single strongest factor, and nothing you buy changes it.
That has two consequences. First, checking your own ranking from your office tells you almost nothing — you’re always closest to yourself. Second, a business in a dense area competes against far more nearby businesses within any given radius than one in a spread-out area does.
Which is why we track a grid, not a position
Instead of reporting “you rank #3,” we run a grid of simulated searches across your actual service area and show where you appear at each point. That’s the map of where your phone will ring from — and where the next month’s work should be aimed.
What you can actually influence
- Category accuracy. The single biggest controllable factor.
- Review volume, recency and wording. Reviews mentioning a service and a town help you appear for that pairing.
- Website location signals. Genuine location pages, embedded maps, local schema, real addresses in the footer.
- Citation consistency. Identical NAP across every directory.
- Local links. Chambers, associations, sponsorships, local press — these are the links that count in local search.
- Profile activity. Posts, photos, answered questions.
The honest limit: if your business is in Paramus, you are not going to dominate map results in New Brunswick. What you can do is own your true radius completely, and use paid search to reach beyond it where the economics justify it.

Working together
Most of the work happens remotely — audits, builds, calls, reporting. We come on site for discovery meetings, POS installations, staff training and photography. Everything else is faster over a screen share than in traffic on the Turnpike.
Questions
About coverage.
Do you work with businesses outside New Jersey and New York City?
Rarely, and only when an existing client expands into a neighbouring market. Local search is won with local knowledge — which directories matter here, how the competitive density behaves, what a realistic cost per lead looks like in a given county. We’d rather be genuinely useful in two markets than vaguely competent in fifty.
Do we have to meet in person?
No. Most clients we see in person once or twice a year. Discovery, reporting and day-to-day work all happen over video and email, which is faster for everyone. Where physical presence genuinely helps — POS installation, staff training, photography — we come to you.
Can you help me rank in multiple towns?
Yes, within reason. Genuine location pages, correct service-area configuration, local links and reviews that mention specific towns all extend your effective radius. What we won’t do is generate forty near-identical city pages — Google treats that as doorway spam and it can damage the whole domain. Where organic reach genuinely runs out, paid search covers the gap.
Do you understand NJ and NY business requirements?
The ones that intersect with marketing and digital setup, yes: New Jersey business registration and licensing as it affects Google verification, contractor licensing requirements for Local Services Ads eligibility, New Jersey and New York attorney advertising rules, and the state privacy laws that shape what your website has to disclose. For legal, tax and formation questions, we’ll tell you to talk to a professional rather than guess.
